Each One Is a Treasure

God created the human,
To rule over what had the Creator mold
There are nice, there are fun,
There are rude, there are some who goes against the Lord

But surely, God created anyone to bring joy
That’s what I felt when I saw my gift
God gave us another treasure, not a toy
We name her Styx, a beauty that no one should miss

Over a month, she’s been with us
Though times pulled her away
But as soon as we’ll see her another day
Oh! How glad our hearts that can paint a smiley

Months passed, days left
On a very sudden day, God gave us a lift
The treasure that He entrusted to us
Will soon become a dust

Oh, lovely Creator why taking her too soon
Plans that I keep yet no time to perform
Why taking her now, why not after our dawn
My heart is stuck and shedding to mourn

Forever I’ll bear this,
Forever I’m hoping that I’ll be bliss
To you oh Lord, begging so deep
That someday you’ll permit me to see her and kiss

From a longing father

Feeling overwhelmed?

Here are 10 tips to reduce your stress, anytime, anyplace.

1. Turn off your cell phone for 1 hour a day.
[Don't listen to the news]
2. Create rituals for yourself.
Rituals help ground us, especially when we feel out of control. A ritual can be as simple as going for a morning jog or enjoying an evening bath.
3. Call a friend and let off steam.
Friends are one of the great joys in life, You can share your feelings, cry when you need to, laugh and have fun with a friend. And there is growing scientific evidence that meaningful involvement with others actually buffers the wearing and tearing effects of stressful situations.
4. Get your priorities straight.
Think about what's really important - family, friends, good health - and make them the focus of your attention. Put unnecessary distractions at the very bottom of your to-do list. This will keep things in your life from spiraling out of control.
5. Reconnect with nature.
Take a walk in the park. Fill your life with flowers. There is a peace, a connectedness, a sense of balance and justice we get through nature that is vital to our emotional and mental health.
6. Improve your lifestyle habits.
Regular physical activity and a healthy diet can improve weight, energy levels, self-confidence and overall health and well-being, making it much easier for you to handle daily stressors.
7. Breathe deeply.
Inhale through your nose. Pull the air all the way down, deep into the lungs. Hold the breath for a count of six. Exhale slowly through the mouth to the count of six. Do this for several minutes.
8. Smile.
Have a good belly laugh. Watch funny movies, Read funny stories. Laughter is a great way to relieve stress. It dissolves tension and seems to help brighten the situation. Another plus - laughter seems to help boost your immune system, in turn making you less prone to developing colds and other infections.
9. Do one thing at a time.
One of the best ways to cope with feelings of being overwhelmed is to pick one urgent task and finish it. Once you accomplish that task, choose the next one, The positive feeling of "checking off " tasks is very satisfying and will motivate you to keep going.
10. When the world closes in on you and your head feels a size too small, reach for some Peace of Mind.
Practice some massage onto the back of your neck, temples and earlobes melts away tension and tightness - in nature's gentle, non-habit forming way.

HEALTH TIPS FROM AROUND THE WORLD

SWEDEN - According to a study of 35 European countries, the Swedes emerged the healthiest. Participants were judged on life expectancy, death rates, childhood mortality and smoking. Sweden has one of the lowest smoking rates in Europe, leading to fewer deaths caused by tobacco-related illnesses.

HEALTH TIP - Quit smoking . According to a Danish study, women who smoke three sticks a day double their risk of a heart attack. Quitting also improves skin and sleep, boosts fertility and saves money.
NORWAY - Norwegian roads are one of the safest. A recent survey showed that Norway has one of the lowest accident rates in the world with only seven deaths in every 100,000 caused by cars. Experts attribute this to heavy speeding fines and tight drink-driving restrictions in the country.

HEALTH TIP - If you drink, don't drive. If you know you'll be having drinks with friends, make sure there's a designated 'driver ' who will not be tempted by alcohol.

SPAIN - The global average for the life expectancy of a woman is 67 years but the Spanish senora lives up to 80 years on average. Recent studies attribute part of this to that midday siesta. Not only does napping ease the mind, relax muscles and reduce stress, sleep is needed to produce the human growth hormone which maintains muscle mass and repairs damaged cells.

HEALTH TIP - Harvard researchers have discovered that having a power nap can help employees be more effective at work. But don't go beyond 20 minutes or you'll end up feeling even groggier!
BRAZIL - Asia's stressed out cities should take a leaf out of the chilled-out Brazilian's book. According to a survey, Brazil is home to the most relaxed people in the world, with 24 percent saying they never get stressed. Those with the least stress spend 76 hours a week with their families - that's 40 hours more than the global average.

HEALTH TIP - Cut down stress levels and boosts your immunity by spending more time with family and friends. It's tough with long working hours, but one way for time-strapped families to bond is making it a point to sit down to dinner together at least twice a week. This sacred time can become a comforting family ritual.
NIGERIA - In a study of 65 countries in New Scientist magazine, Nigeria had the highest percentage of happy people in the world. Due to their lack of material possessions, Nigerians place priorities on other things like laughter and family time.

HEALTH TIP - Being happy helps reduce stress and boosts the body's immune system... best of all, it comes cheap. A US study found that people who started giggling while watching a funny video saw a drop in the production of stress hormones.

FINLAND - Compared to the rest of the world, the Finns are experiencing the fastest drop in the number of people with heart disease. Experts believe this could be due to their love for saunas which are said to boost circulation and increase the flow of blood through the heart.

HEALTH TIP - Most gyms and health clubs have saunas - so make the most out of them. It's polite to have a shower before entering. Limit your time in the sauna to 10 to 15 minutes ; after you've warmed up, cool off by taking a cool shower or swim. Once your body temperature has dropped, you can return to the heat. Drink plenty of water before and after to prevent dehydration.

TAIWAN - With just one in 500 marriages ending in divorce each year, Taiwan boasts the lowest divorce rate in the world. Medical experts believe that happiness within the home has benefits on mental health, explaining why just two percent of the population suffer from depressive disorders.

HEALTH TIP - Strengthen your relationship and boost your mental well-being, by remembering why you fell in love and don't neglect to show it. As relationship expert Dr Philip McGraw says, ' Love is a verb.' Show your affection in little ways like slipping a sweet note in his shirt pocket or calling to let him know you're thinking of him.
INDIA - A study shows that elderly villagers in India have the lowest rate of Alzheimer's disease in the world, and researchers attribute this to the powers of curcumin, the powerful compound found in turmeric, the spice that gives curry it's yellow hue. A UCLA study found that low doses of curcumin blocked the accumulation of plaques and also reduced inflammation [ an effect of Alzheimer's on neurologic tissue].

HEALTH TIP - Add some spice to your curries! Try stirring 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric [ too much can make food taste bitter] in rice or couscous.
JAPAN - People who live in Japan can expect to remain in good health longer than anyone else in the world, according to the World Health Organisation. One of the possible contributions to their longevity is the consumption of soy which is said to be a great protector against heart disease. Soy products also contain plant chemicals that are said to mimic our body's oestrogen. This helps protect against hormone-related cancers such as breast cancer.

HEALTH TIP - Add soy to your diet, like soy milk for your tea or coffee. You can also add tofu to your stir-fries in place of meat.

The Greatest Love Of All

This is a true story that happened in Japan. In order to renovate the house, someone in Japan tear open the wall.

Japanese houses normally have a hollow space between the wooden walls.
When tearing down the walls, he found that there was a lizard stucked there because a nail from outside hammered into one of its feet.

He sees this, feels pity and at the same time curious, as when he checked the nail, it was nailed 10 years ago when the house was first built.

What happened? The lizard has survived in such position for 10 years!?!! In a dark wall partition for 10 years without moving,it is impossible and mind boggling.

Then he wondered, how this lizard survived for 10 years without moving a single step - since its feet was nailed!

So, he stopped his work and observed the lizard, what has it been doing and what has it been eating? Later, don't know from where appears another lizard, with food in its mouth... AHHH!
He was stunned and touched deeply. For the lizard that was stucked by nail, another lizard has been feeding it for the past 10 years...

Such a love, such a beautiful love!! Such love happened even on this tiny creature. What can love do? It can do wonders!! Love can do miracles!!

Imagine it has been doing it for a tiredsome 10 yrs, without giving up hope on its partner. Imagine what a small creature can do that a creature blessed with the brilliant mind can't.
I am touched when I heard this story. And started wondering the relationship between them: family, friends, lovers, brothers, sisters...... As the technology advances, our access to information become faster and faster. But the distance between human beings, was it getting closer as well?
NEVER ABANDON YOUR LOVED ONES.

Colours Of The Rainbow

Once upon a time the colors of the world started to quarrel. All claimed that they were the best. The most important, the most useful, the most beautiful and the favorite.
Green said:
"Clearly I am the most important. I am the sign of life and of hope.I was chosen for grass, trees and leaves. Without me, all animals would die. Look over the countryside and you will see that I am in the majority."
Blue interrupted:
"You only think about the earth, but consider the sky and the sea. It is the water that is the basis of life and drawn up by the clouds from the deep sea. The sky gives space and peace and serenity. Without my peace, you would all be nothing."
Yellow chuckled:
"You are all so serious. I bring laughter, gaiety, and warmth into the world. The sun is yellow, the moon is yellow, and the stars are yellow. Every time you look at a sunflower, the whole world starts to smile. Without me there would be no fun."
Orange started next to blow her trumpet:
"I am the color of health and strength. I may be scarce, but I am precious for I serve the needs of human life. I carry the most important vitamins. Think of carrots, pumpkins, oranges, mangoes, and papayas. I don't hang around all the time, but when I fill the sky at sunrise or sunset My beauty is so striking that no one gives another thought to any of you."
Red could stand it no longer he shouted out:
"I am the ruler of all of you. I am blood - life's blood!I am the color of danger and of bravery. I am willing to fight for a cause. I bring fire into the blood. Without me, the earth would be as empty as the moon. I am the color of passion and of love, the red rose, the poinsettia and the poppy."
Purple rose up to his full height:
He was very tall and spoke with great pomp:
"I am the color of royalty and power. Kings, chiefs, and bishops have always chosen me for I am the sign of authority and wisdom. People do not question me! They listen and obey."
Finally Indigo spoke,
much more quietly than all the others. But with just as much determination:
"Think of me. I am the color of silence. You hardly notice me, but without me you all become superficial. I represent thought and reflection, twilight and deep water. You need me for balance and contrast, for prayer and inner peace.".
And so all the colors went on boasting each others. Each convinced of his or her own superiority. Their quarreling became louder and louder. Suddenly there was a startling flash of bright lightening, thunder rolled and boomed. Rain started to pour down relentlessly. The colors crouched down in fear, drawing close to one another for comfort.
In the midst of the clamor, the Rain began to speak:
"You foolish colors, fighting amongst yourselves, each trying to dominate the rest. Don't you know that you were each made for a special purpose, unique and different? Join hands with one another and come to me."Doing as they were told, the colors united and joined hands.
The Rain continued:
"From now on, when it rains, each of you will stretch across the sky. In a great bow of color as a reminder that you can all live in peace. The Rainbow is a sign of hope for tomorrow."
And so, whenever a good rain-washes the world and a Rainbow appears in the sky, is to let us remember to appreciate one another.

STYX...Our Angel of Light.

Styx, why did you leave Mama?
I thought we are partners
How will I continue living my life?
Without you by my side.
If I had just known you’ll go away
I should have spent all my time with you
Now, how will I recover?
I don’t know how to start all over.

I’m sorry baby I wasn’t the best mother to you
I’m very sorry I didn’t know how to take care of you
Now that you’re gone I am always regretting
Forever, it’s you whom I’ll be longing.
I know you don’t want me to worry
I’m sure you want me to be happy
But how will I enjoy baby?
Without you in my life, help me.

I really can’t stop thinking about you
Mama loves you so much baby I really do
You should have stayed alive for Mama
As my partner…..to inspire.
Baby, please help me to recover
And accept everything
Or else Mama will get sick
God! It should not happen
Because I still have Papa and Sky.

Be with us Styx always
Though you’re far away
Do watch over us and guard
You may not be my partner anymore
From heaven, you are our angel of light!

SOAR HIGH...BE LIFTED UP!

Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks?

The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come. When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it.
The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm.

When the storms of life come upon us - and all of us will experience them - we can rise above them by setting our minds and our belief toward God. The storms do not have to overcome us. We can allow God's power to lift us above them.
God enables us to ride the winds of the storm that bring sickness, tragedy, failure and disappointment in our lives. We can soar above the storm.

Remember, it is not the burdens of life that weigh us down, it is how we handle them.

OUR FOUR WIVES...PICK ONE!

There was a rich merchant who had 4 wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies. He took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much. He's very proud of her and always wanted to show off her to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men.

He too, loved his 2nd wife. She is a very considerate person, always patient and in fact is the merchant's confidante. Whenever the merchant faced some problems, he always turned to his 2nd wife and she would always help him out and tide him through difficult times.

Now, the merchant's 1st wife is a very loyal partner and has made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and business as well as taking care of the household. However, the merchant did not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.

One day, the merchant fell ill. Before long, he knew that he was going to die soon. He thought of his luxurious life and told himself, "Now I have 4 wives with me. But when I die, I'll be alone. How lonely I'll be!"

Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I loved you most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No way!" replied the 4th wife and she walked away without another word.

The answer cut like a sharp knife right into the merchant's heart. The sad merchant then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you so much for all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No!" replied the 3rd wife. "Life is so good over here! I'm going to remarry when you die!" The merchant's heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife, "I always turned to you for help and you've always helped me out. Now I need your help again. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?" "I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd wife. "At the very most, I can only send you to your grave." The answer came like a bolt of thunder and the merchant was devastated.

Then a voice called out : "I'll leave with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go." The merchant looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny, almost like she suffered from malnutrition. Greatly grieved, the merchant said, "I should have taken much better care of you while I could have !"

Actually, we all have 4 wives in our lives
a. The 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it'll leave us when we die.

b. Our 3rd wife ? Our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, they all go to others.

c. The 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how close they had been there for us when we're alive, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.

d. The 1st wife is in fact our soul, often neglected in our pursuit of material, wealth and sensual pleasure.

Guess what? It is actually the only thing that follows us wherever we go. Perhaps it's a good idea to cultivate and strengthen it now rather than to wait until we're on our deathbed to lament

LIFE STILL HAS A MEANING!

If there is a future there is time for mending-

Time to see your troubles coming to an ending.

Life is never hopeless however great your sorrow-

If you're looking forward to a new tomorrow.

If there is time for wishing then there is time for hoping-

When through doubt and darkness you are blindly groping.

Though the heart be heavy and hurt you may be feeling-

If there is time for praying there is time for healing.

So if through your window there is a new day breaking-

Thank God for the promise, though mind and soul be aching,

If with harvest over there is grain enough for gleaning-

There is a new tomorrow and life still has meaning.

THE WINDOW...

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour a day to drain the fluids from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.
The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. And every afternoon when the man in the bed next to the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.
The man in the other bed would live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the outside world. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake, the man had said. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Lovers walked arm in arm amid flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.
One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man could not hear the band, he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words. Unexpectedly, an alien thought entered his head: Why should hehave all the pleasure of seeing everything while I never get to see anything? It didn't seem fair. As the thought fermented, the man felt ashamed at first. But as the days passed and he missed seeing more sights, his envy eroded into resentment and soon turned him sour. He began to brood and found himself unable to sleep. He should be by that window - and that thought now controlled his life.
Late one night, as he lay staring at the ceiling, the man by the window began to cough. He was choking on the fluid in his lungs. The other man watched in the dimly lit room as the struggling man by the window groped for the button to call for help. Listening from across the room, he never moved, never pushed his own button which would have brought the nurse running. In less than five minutes, the coughing and choking stopped, along with the sound of breathing. Now, there was only silence--deathly silence.
The following morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths. When she found the lifeless body of the man by the window, she was saddened and called the hospital attendant to take it away--no words, no fuss. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.
Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it all himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall.

Moral of the story:

The pursuit of happiness is a matter of choice...it is a positive attitude we consciously choose to express. It is not a gift that gets delivered to our doorstep each morning, nor does it come through the window. And I am certain that our circumstances are just a small part of what makes us joyful. If we wait for them to get just right, we will never find lasting joy.
The pursuit of happiness is an inward journey. Our minds are like programs, awaiting the code that will determine behaviors; like bank vaults awaiting our deposits. If we regularly deposit positive, encouraging, and uplifting thoughts, if we continue to bite our lips just before we begin to grumble and complain, if we shoot down that seemingly harmless negative thought as it germinates, we will find that there is much to rejoice about.

PENCIL'S UP!

You don't actually have to take the quiz. Just read straight through, and you'll get the point, an awesome one. ..... Take this quiz:

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.

2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.

3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America contest.

4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor actress.

6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?
The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.

2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.

3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.

4. Think of a few people who have made you feel, appreciated and special.

5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

6. Name half a dozen heroes whose stories have inspired you.

Easier?
The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards.
They are the ones that care.

BUTTERFLY...

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further.
So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon.
The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings.
The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time.
Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.
What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were God's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.
Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If God allowed us to go through our lives without any obstacles, it would cripple us.

We would not be as strong as what we could have been.

We could never fly!

I asked for Strength.........

And God gave me Difficulties to make me strong.
I asked for Wisdom.........

And God gave me Problems to solve.
I asked for Prosperity.........

And God gave me Brain and Brawn to work.
I asked for Courage.........

And God gave me Danger to overcome.
I asked for Love.........

And God gave me Troubled people to help.
I asked for Favors.........

And God gave me Opportunities.
I received nothing I wanted ........

I received everything I needed!

Trust in God. Always !

from The Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám of Naishápúr

1
Wake! For the Sun, who scattered into flight

The Stars before him from the Field of Night,

Drives Night along with them from Heav'n, and strikes

The Sultán's Turret with a Shaft of Light.

2
Before the phantom of False morning died,

Methought a Voice within the Tavern cried,

"When all the Temple is prepared within,

"Why nods the drowsy Worshipper outside?"

3
And, as the Cock crew, those who stood before

The Tavern shouted"Open then the Door!

"You know how little while we have to stay,

"And, once departed, may return no more."

4
Now the New Year reviving old Desires,

The thoughtful Soul to Solitude retires,

Where the WHITE HAND OF MOSES on the BoughPuts out,

and Jesus from the Ground suspires.

5
Irám indeed is gone with all his Rose,

And Jamshýd's Sev'nringed Cup where no one knows;

But still a Ruby kindles in the Vine,

And many a Garden by the Water blows.

6
And David's lips are lockt; but in divine

High-piping Pehleví, with "Wine! Wine! Wine!

"Red Wine!"—the Nightingale cries to the Rose

That sallow cheek of hers to incarnadine.

7
Come, fill the Cup, and in the fire of Spring

Your Winter-garment of Repentance fling:

The Bird of Time has but a little way

To flutter—and the Bird is on the Wing.

8
Whether at Naishápúr or Babylon,

Whether the Cup with sweet or bitter run,

The Wine of Life keeps oozing drop by drop,

The Leaves of Life keep falling one by one.

9

Each Morn a thousand Roses brings, you say;

Yes, but where leaves the Rose of Yesterday?

And this first Summer month that brings the Rose

Shall take Jamshýd and Kaikobád away.

Edward FitzGerald (1809–1883)

HUMAN PHILOSOPHY...

Why was Snow White given an apple with poison?

To show that not all people that are kind to you are really kind, they might have some other agenda against you, looks can be deceiving.

Why did Cinderella run away when the clock turns 12?

To remind us that everything has it’s limitations, even dreams.

Why did Ariel decide to exchange her fins with feet?

To show that anyone will lose anything just to be happy.

BREATH DEEP...BE STRONG!

The hills, the valleys

and the bends.

Going up and down

each day,

wondering if my heart will mend.

Sure, the pain will lessen

and I'll genuinly smile once more

but the emptiness will stay

and my heart will forever be sore.

You were all I ever wanted

and now you'll never be.

You were going to be my future

now that has ceased for me.

I can't help this feeling

of feeling so alone,

but I just can't talk about it

I don't want to be a moan.

So I'll keep writing

and talking to you in my mind.

Until we meet one day

and then true joy I will find.

I'm not saying

it's going to be soon,

even if it's years from now

my joy will be over the moon.

BABY STYX...OUR ANGEL!

Holding out these empty arms
Cursing my disillusionment
Why did I imagine it could be any other way
that I could have been content, dreams that’s all it was,

Mothers arms are not meant to be empty
I look up at the sky, tears filling my eyes,
Searching the stars trying to find my angel
The brightest star I search for

Finding it the first tear rolls down my cheek
Memories flood back of our short time together
Love totally encasing my heart
as I look at that star I know you are there baby

I will never forget I just can’t come to accept
as I look that you are so far
I would have cuddled and loved you kept you safe
Within my arms holding you in a tight embrace

I will search these skies for you each night
But just for now have to leave you in Gods guiding light
Sleep well my baby one day my arms and heart will be full again
As I join you and give you all that was meant to be

Thank You Han-Han....
